Scouting Strategy?

I am just wondering, does anyone have a good strategy for scouting? Like how many weeks to spend on a prospect, and so forth?

honestly the scouting is sort of iffy...

i would scout a guy who supposedly had 4.3 speed & would only amount to 86 speed over all after he was drafted...

ever since last year i started siming a draft only to record players actual ratings & then proceed to redo teh draft so i knew exactly who i was drafting/wanted to draft...

I usually start at the top of the list and however many reports I have I scout that many players for 6 weeks. I then pick 2 or 3 positions where I have the most need and scout the top few there for 6 weeks. I then spend the remaining 5 weeks scouting either needs players if I don't feel I have enough there or best player available if I have enough to fill my needs.

I then write down the top players who I see making a draft board for myself with usually about 50 or so players (this will be plenty because usually out of those to 50 at least half will still be around in the 3rd round.

No real strategy for me. I just scout guys I think I may have an interest in come draft time. I probably won't even dig deep in the reports I get back until the off-season. Right now it is all about gathering as much info about as many players as I can.
