I'm guessing so that no one would make a NFL "type" game using ESPN?

Also ESPN promotes it now too. Just my theory

So if EA already had the NFL license, what kind of game would 2k make using the ESPN license? What is preventing them from making a similar game now despite not having the ESPN license?
