Question about simmed stats

I was just wondering why it is so hard to have realistic simmed stats in madden. When way way smaller companies with like 1/100th of the budget of madden...like front office football for instance. Now only problem with front office football is the qbs completion percentage is way too high. But I think we all would kill to have the simmed stats of a front office football for madden.

So that brings up my question. How come madden the biggest and baddest football game out there, why cant it have realistic simmed stats in franchise mode? Is it really that hard? I know nothing about programming other than its a serious pain. So I am asking a geniune question here. If it is impossible or too hard thats all I would like to know. I can accept that.

This years franchise mode is practically bug free. I have yet to run into any freezing or any problems at all. Another question is how do I know which coaches are good? There are no ratings. I know who the good ones are but thats because I follow football. However when all the good coaches retire then what do I do?

Also one more thing how long does franchise mode last in madden 10 for the offline version? I heard unlimited years but I dont know if this is true.

I believe only SOME coaches have an effect on your team. It tells you on the screen when you hire them. Someone at EA has a grudge against Rex Ryan...he takes 5 points away in 3 categories for your defensive players...lol.

Re: Question about simmed stats

Whats wrong with the sim stats?

The only thing thats really wrong is 3-4 sacks.

Other than that, looks good. Maybe rushing td's are on the down, and is reflective of a more passing league.

What's your qualms with Madden's sim engine?

Its not reflective of the real league.

QBs have too many TDs. Ive simmed about 8 seasons and a few times Ive had a few QBs with 40+ TDs, and most seasons there are 11-12 QBs with 30+ TDs. Show me the last time that happened in real football.

To many sacks altogether. To many 3-4 DEs and 4-3 LBs coming away with high sack totals. 3-4 OLBs arent getting enough.

CB tackles stats are way off.

Pancake stats (which arent that imporatant to me since its not an offical stat, but matter to some people) are screwy.

Problems with half sacks and assisted tackles.

There are alot of issues with simmed stats. Most people want to look at it at the end of the season and say "this could happen". Not "this doesnt make sense", which is sadly what people say about most things in Madden.

Re: Question about simmed stats

Wow i played about 3 seasons. And only once has a QB had more than 30+ Tds.

It was like Manning with 38.

Strange, I'll guess i'll look out for more anomalies.

I agree that 3-4 defense is a problem.

I guess people complained so vehemently about pancakes last year, that they practically removed it.

Whats a good number of CB tackles each year? 40?

Re: Question about simmed stats

MLB with like 187 tackles, backup RB ypc, RB1 TD's are way low. I think it comes down to priorities. Sim stats were not a priority this year, if they were they would be fixed. It's also possible that someone just forgot to plug in a program or something and it will be fixed in a patch.

Re: Question about simmed stats

MLB with 187 tackles? Weird.

The leader in my last season had 140.

However, I sim my games one at a time. Like I play my game, then sim the rest of the week.

Maybe the simulation engine is different, for individual sims, and entire season sims?

Re: Question about simmed stats

That very well could be, maybe one at a time makes a difference. The one that bugs me is the TD's, ond OLB stats. Super simming seems to help, but it is far from perfect.
