Franchise Resurrection

I wanted a challenge doing a franchise so i figured i would pick one of the worst teams in the league. I decided on the Rams and can honestly say this is the best franchise ive ever done. They are pretty bad, obviously they have S.Jackson but other then that its slim talent wise. They have no depth at any position, which means trading is pretty much out unless i give up draft picks, which im really gonna need. I am loving the challenge in rebuilding this team. Does anyone else love doing this taking the worst teams and rebuilding? Share your franchise stories

I would love to do that, but I find it hard to play as any team but the Steelers.

Im thinking of doing a fantasy draft sometime and building up a cupcake with only a few decent-good players.

Re: Franchise Resurrection

Good stuff man. I simmed through the Lions 5 years and rebuilt through the draft. In year 6, I am absolutely destroying on All Madden.

Here is the thead:

Ya, I read your stuff I Peench before the game came out. It was very good.

I am currently trying to rebuild the Niners for the fun of it. It's interesting, because they're not really a basement dweller, but they have some awful contracts that I have had to work around. I've been simming it all, and they have gotten as close as the NFC Championship game. I'm currently in Year 5.

Re: Franchise Resurrection

I Peench, Packerman you both said you simmed do you find simming the first couple seasons make it more enjoyable? Do you play any games or will you eventually down the road?

I was just simming because I wanted to give people examples of progression and a feel for the draft before the game came out (I had it a week early). I enjoy playing the games more. But, when rebuilding, it is sometimes more realistic to sim a few seasons.

I have a regular franchise that I play games in, but I'm not always up for playing an actual game. I will usually play a few series of a preseason game with my Niners team, just to get a feel for them, especially when I find a great rookie - which is easier to do with Madden generated players than NCAA, I've found. I will also play any Super Bowls that the team appears in.

I just simmed through Year 5, and it was a big disappointment. We went 8-8. My 2nd year QB, Patrick Willis, and Frank Gore all went down with 4+ Week injuries sometime throughout the season.

I was really happy when i heard this years scouting was really improved. Im hoping to find some good players in this draft. The great (bad)thing is i need players at almost every position.
