PS3 - 720p vs 1080p

This was weird, I have a 1080P tv and set my PS3 on 1080P, but Madden looked alittle more crisp on 720P. 1080P made it look fuzzy? May have to play around with this more.

I play on a 42" Insignia 1080p. i have a 2 game rotation which is the show and madden, both support 1080p, so thats what i play on. looks ridiculous.

Mine does the same on 1080p I really think madden 10 is only for 720p..

Hmm, ridiculously bad or good? When I first popped it in I played on 1080, but then I thought players moving, and Cs's looked smoother on 720 since this is usually the native resolution. I thought 1080p was just an upscale... I'm on a 32 inch

Those that say it looks amazing on 1080p are just having placebo affect

the game looks better on 720p period

1080p the game suffers from fuzziness and has more defined edges

on 720p the game looks natural and nice

the ps3 does not have a true upscaler like the 360

set it at 720p and your tv if it is 1080p will upscale it on its own

forcing 1080p from your console will make it worst and not better..

the ps3 has no upscaler and the game was made for 720p

Same here. I am going to try again as well.

To get it to play in 1080p, you have to have only 480p and 1080p checked off in your ps3 display settings. I have a 40 inch sharp 1080p tv but I found that the game looks much better in its native 720p resolution. Forcing it to 1080p introduced some pixelation and "noise" that is not there in 720p. Go with 720p.

i got a 60" Mitsubishi...idk, I thought they made cars not TV's up til about a year ago.

Didnt have framerate issues, but ill tell ya the default at 720 looked better than 1080, it wasnt a HUUUUUUUGE difference or something, but it definitely looked a little more sharp.
