Superstar could be so much better! Ideas.

Superstar mode was fine in some of the earlier Madden games. But EA being EA, removes stuff from the mode, and never bothered to put more stuff back into it.

they need to take a page out of scea's road to the show mode. the depth of a career mode can be easily achieved. but it's all about the money with EA as with all of these companies. They make the same amount of money regardless of whether or not they improve the superstar mode.

I really hope EA comes through with a fully realized Superstar Mode for M12. I was just thinking about it, playing NCAA 08 and Campus Legend, winning NC as Junior, then entering draft, being a 4th round pick but leading the Vikings to a title my first season...and I loved every bit of it. It's a disappointment that EA hasn't fully realized Superstar mode yet on Next-Gen, but hopefully next year we will truly see this mode live up to the standard set by other career modes in the sports genre.

How to make it better? Basically everything said in the OP. It cannot get much worse than M10. I tried to play it a few times, and it just wasn't right. Nowhere near as immersive, even the details like going from an apartment to a nice mansion on the old game added so much...but like I said, fingers crossed for M12!

Superstar mode could easily be the most fun thing to play on Madden, or on any other game out there. The only problem is, none of the games have the kind of depth the OP, and quite frankly we all want. If Superstar mode had the kind of things that are being talked about, I don't think I'd ever be able to pu the game down. But because the mode is so simple and boring, and hasn't been changed for years, it is unplayable.

Madden could be a game where people purchase it for the sole purpose of playing Superstar mode if some of the ideas in this thread were implemented. Sadly, I don't ever see anything close to the dream of the OP ever happening.

Count me in the list of players who LOVE SS mode. I agree that the mode could be soooooo much better if just some real creative development time was spent on it.

This is my favorite mode and all this sounds great just. I don't no if EA will deliver in 2012
