An example of bad pursuits off an interception, :27 seconds for play 1 & 1:00 for the 2nd play.

EA Sports: Madden NFL 10 Video Highlight

Follow #46 . He has absolutely no clue how to pursue the ball carrier.

Re: Pursuit angles?

Lots of times I'll be running down a side line and the safety or whoever is back there will take an awful angle at the ball carrier.

Instead of projecting where the runner will be the AI controlled player runs in a straight line at the user controlled player.

Re: Pursuit angles?

Here's one from a quick Youtube search:

I also don't like the pursuit angles when you're about to break ahead of everyone for a big run and the defenders are trailing you, almost next to your player. It's almost as if you have some sort of force-field on your jersey preventing the defender to make an attempt to cut in and tackle you before you break away for a huge run and TD.

This is what I'm talking about here. I think it sums up what I'm trying to explain...especially #27 on the Eagles.

You also might want to take a look at CPU players running along the goalline instead of crossing the goalline. It has happened a few times to me. Didn't think EA would care.

Re: Pursuit angles?

Definitely needs tweaking as well as swiching players cause it will switch to someone that has no chance in making the play due to terrible player closing speed(maybe due to that slight pause in taking someone over) and true lack of a diving tackle animation...

FIxing this will greatly help the pick sixes and passes to the flats.

That's a great one, it's almost like he is squaring off his angle every few yards. Great video -DaVe-!
