but in team's and my scenario, there is no potential

I actually think there was. It was just hidden. Could be wrong though. But I have yet to hear an explanation for the egalitarian nature of no-potential PBP. Do you really think my potential is the same as Adrian Peterson's?

No potential is the same as A potential anyway, at least within the PBP context. Basically, everyone can be a star.

Haha good point. But let me tell you, in Madden 06 it was not that easy. Literally, it was not fun playing with John Navarre, but I liked the challenge and then when he became a little bit better I was enjoying it more and I was feeling a sense of accomplishment. It was fun to be in my fantasy franchise world.

Believe me, I hear you. When I played "Play Now" on 09, the first thing I did was put in Charles Godfrey and Nail Diggs. But you have to realize that the moment you start your franchise is the moment "your" NFL diverges from the "real" NFL. I mean, after a couple of seasons, much of your starting line-up doesn't even "really" exist.

The other thing is, while there's nothing wrong with that style of play, it is not sim.

from Merriam:
sim·u·la·tion
Pronunciation: \ˌsim-yə-ˈlā-shən\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English simulacion, from Anglo-French, from Latin simulation-, simulatio, from simulare
Date: 14th century
3 a : the imitative representation of the functioning of one system or process by means of the functioning of another

im simulating the real NFL Saints..throw out the Madden use of the word sim, and youll see its most definitely more of a simulation than picking up every high rated FA available and auto reordering my roster

BTW..my nights sleep just turned into a power nap..thanks alot guys
oh well its Friday

But...I'm playing Madden.

The other things is that it's really not sim in any sense. If a Redskins fan followed your strategy playing 09, he'd be without the best player on the Skins right now. Same with the Chiefs. Signing FA's (and letting FA's go) is every bit as much a part of the game as is the stretch zone. Sure signing high priced FA's left and right isn't sim, but

A) Ideally you wouldn't win every bidding war and
B) Ideally you would get yourself into major salary cap trouble that way.

I'm still in my first season, so I have no idea if either of these is the case in Madden 10, but they should be.
