My buddy and I did a Franchise in Madden, and I was using the Panthers and two of my players (Duke Robinson and Josh McCown) were injured and out for the season. I put them on IR, and then went to sign people to replace them - but the computer said my roster was full. Fine, so I went to release them but couldn't because they were on IR. I had to release fresh players to sign these guys.

Is there any way to avoid this WITHOUT taking off injuries?

Nope, unfortunately putting someone on IR doesn't free up a roster spot.

It's been broken forever. No ETA from EA on when this becomes important enough to fix.

Yeah this has been a problem for years. Once a few years back I had to start my franchise over because I had so many guys injured, I couldn't sign enough guys to replace them, because of this stupidity.

I really wish they would take the time to get franchise mode right, it's pretty much the only thing I play.

This is why I thought Head Coach would be a better game for me, but they had to go out and make that suck too.

This should be fairly easy to fix for EA. I can't understand why they have IR if it doesn't serve any purpose.

This should be fixed. I have doubts it ever will be though.

lol i know how you feel. I really don't want to release a guy i might need in order to fill the void left by an injury
