Player Retirements

I was wondering if anyone new of a list of when players retire or whether anyone knew when any certain players retire in franchise mode because I need to know when T.O. and Mcnabb and westbrook retire so I can trade them in their last year!

i doubt there is a specific year they retire.

There are plenty of variable to when a player is going to retire. If your players get injured, might as well shave off at least one year of their career.

If they are old and it is their last year on the contract, good luck keeping them from retiring.

Positions also matter. You should always expect kickers and punters to give a good 15 years of playing. WRs 9-16 years at the MOST.
Running Backs 9-13 years at the MOST. If the player gets the same injury many times, he may not last long.

My rookie kept injuring his left ACL and he only had a career of 6 years. He only had 1 year that was relatively healthy. Injuries shave off years of player's careers as they should.

Actually, Warner sticks around for 3 years, at least in my Cowboys franchise. I just entered the 2012 season and he retired the previous offseason, as did TO. Randy Moss is still in the league though.

I don't think that there are hard-and-fast retirement dates for a lot of the players, except the older ones. I know that Favre, and Derrick Brooks retire after the first season no matter what, but I think that some other people might be affected by how well they play.

Not true. I am 3 years into my franchise and Warner is still playing.
