There is no DBL OT in the NFL so why in Madden?

In the NFL if the clock runs out in OT it is declared a tie, why is this not in Madden?

I just played a online game that went to OT, got the ball with under a minute left and would have ran a completely different set of plays if I knew ahead of time that it was going to keep going.

Can anyone from EA explain why it's in the game if it's not in the NFL?

There has been a tie in our online franchise, so I really don't know what you're talking about. Glad that your only 2 posts on the forum have been to put down the game, though.

I posted in the "gripes" thread after registering to post some problems I had, that's exactly what it's for. Stop being so sensitive about what others post. I am sorry my 2 posts haven't been to praise the game and say how perfect it is. It's a good game with some bugs. Now wouldn't it be nice to have a place where we can post our questions and feedback on Madden in a respectful manner? Hmmm, I wonder.

This happened in a ranked online game (thanks for asking).

A couple of my buddies were playin eachother online in an unranked game, and they happened to go into double OT. It's pretty weird bein that there is no double OT in the NFL.

Good question. I haven't experienced it in Madden 10 yet, but it did effect me in a prior version. I was playing a buddy of mine online there was under 30 seconds remaining in OT, so I rushed my FG unit out to attempt a long FG on 1st or 2nd down. I missed the kick and was shocked to see that when the clock hit 00:00, the game just went to double OT. LOL If I would have known that, I wouldn't have rushed the FG unit out there.

I've yet to go into OT offline, but I was kinda wondering the same. I don't really play online, but is it possible to have a tie on ur online record?
