Re: expansion draft exposed players

i skipped the part about moving rookies around cuz its too much of a pain plus I already know IRL which teams have which guys and some of them are important to that teams future, (ex. Sanchez, Stafford). I would NOT do a cupcake team though because the whole team is 55-75 OVR rookies with mostly a & b potential. Unrealistic and I also didnt want all those decent rookies filling the FA pool. Pick out who you want and do a fantasy draft in your created team (team type instead of cupcake, go down a couple more and youll see fantasy draft). Then draft all and only the guys you want and they have to be on the team your gonna replaces roster.

I think its very possible that with the addition of sanchez, Clemens would be available. Also maybe matt leinart from AZ.

Re: expansion draft exposed players

whoever makes the rules...I hope theyll be close to the real ones like I used to make my team.
1. No rookies allowed to be drafted
2. No players with 1 yr left on contract (in final yr/FA next yr)
3. Only (1) 30+yr old/10 yr vet made available per team
4. you can take 3 players at most from (1) team
5. You must select 35 players or $40 Mill in sal. cap from teams in "expansion" draft

And for the "dispersal draft" (players from replaced team who are now FA's) I put players on teams by need and in order of this past yrs draft. There were only enough decent players for all non playoff teams from last yr to get a player and you as the "expansion" team gets 1st pick of them.

Re: expansion draft exposed players

All Eligability rules are located at the top of the file.

There are some individuals listed on teams, that are currently FA's in the up to date roster file, but they were not UFA's this past offseason, they were salary cap cuts, or in some cases just cuts during training camp/pre-season.

There are also 2 players listed for the wrong team,
WR Laurent Robinson (who was traded), and one i dont recall off the top of my head.

Also included is each players cap figure for 2009 according to the most up to date franchise file. Which makes the options of selecting 32 players, or 35% of the total salary cap easier to do.

Have fun with this, and lets see some drafts youve put together!

All of the above are used, except for the No players with 1 year left, since in reality, Madden just throws around 1 year deals to whoever they please, even if its not realistic.
So outside of that, the rest are applicable.

Also, i wouldnt go for the Expansion team gets first pick from dispersal draft, unless you limit yourself to only players that team signed as a FA.

(IE if you replace St. Louis, you can select C jason Brown, but not RB S. jackson)

Re: expansion draft exposed players

i did replace the rams and took their rookie RG I think. Kinda simmed my 1st rounder so atleast i got that. About the 1 yr thing. You shouldnt be able to take too many expiring contract guys though cuz then after your 1st season you could possibly have a whole new team again since they'll all be FA's.

Thanks.

And as for the expiring contracts, i resign them all to 2-3 year deals before i start the 1st preseason. Makes my cap a little tighter, and keeps things more interesting. My Expansion Draft consisted of 29 total Selections, totalng $44.98m in cap, and after correcting the 1 year remaining contracts, and my free agent singings (all to 1 year deals..) my salary cap room is $47.06m, and thats after the contracts for the rookies i "drafted" as well.
