I've seen a lot of threads complaining about the time it takes for us to get patches these days, and it got me to thinking...

What exactly does MS and Sony do? What type of process do they go through to certify a patch? What are they looking for? Are they testing the game with the patch, going through the code looking for anomalies? Are they looking for the easter egg where OchoCinco gets naked after a TD?

Just wondering.

they make us wait and suffer so once it comes out we will be so excited and like it so much. Usual Outcome= DISAPPOINTMENT

or they make you wait so long you forget about it so that when it does come out your like, "oh cool"

They have to verify that everything that's in the patch is actually in the patch and working and not messing up anything else. The bigger the patch, the longer the certification.
