Need Help Picking a Team!

I am going to start a franchise relatively soon (when my 360 comes back from Microsoft because of e74). One problem: I don't know what team to be.

-I like to run the ball more than pass it, but if I'm losing late in the game or in a 3rd and long, I can convert most of the time. I want to keep it realistic so I do not need to score every time. I love good HB's, but it is not necessary because I want to draft my HB of the Future.
-On defense, I would prefer a 4-3. With an older one to rebuild or a younger one to develop.
-Just like defense I would prefer to rebuild an older team or develop a younger team.

Teams I will not be:
  • Cowboys
  • Eagles
  • Giants
  • Patriots (Too easy, and I despise them).
  • Redskins (I'm a 'Skins fan, but I know them too well and am pretty good with them. Want more of a challenge).

Re: Need Help Picking a Team!

I would have to say the Kansas City Chiefs.

They run a 3-4 but it is not a lot of work to convert them to 4-3. Just move their DE's Tyson Jackson and Glen Dorsy Inside to Dt ( Tyson is good at both DE and DT if you want to keep him at DE) and move Mike Vrabel to DE (OLB in 3-4 are just DEs in 4-3 anyway).

Larry Johnson is starting to get up in age as far as a RB goes so you can Groom your RB of the future.

Oline needs rebuild as well as defense

Chiefs are a good choice. I want to say the Bears as well.

I'm using the Bears and I'm slowly getting towards putting myself in cap hell, I've spent $242 million re-signing Cutler, Forte, and Tommie Harris. Just started year 4 and I'm about 15 million under but once I get towards the back end of those contracts it won't be pretty

Re: Need Help Picking a Team!

I have this problem alot sometimes.

I like teams that play in the outdoors alot/bad weather.

I also like a challenge.

The Raiders are the BIGGEST challenge IMO.

JaMarcus Russell STINKS and has a major contract just like the rest of the team.

The only Great players they have is that cornerback,Morrison and McFadden.

Instead of drafting their HB of the future just draft the QB of the future.

Other teams to think about are

Browns ,Rams,SeaHawks,I have done a 30 year Franchise with the SeaHawks. That was the most fun I've had with any team. They are as bad as the Raiders.

Re: Need Help Picking a Team!

The Rams might be one of the longest lasting Franchises you can do. Bulger is 32 and his backups are garbage. Jackson is the only decent HB on the team and Donnie Avery is only 75 OVR WR (Your highest rated).

On defense it isn't much better. Other than Laurinaitis and Chris Long, you don't have much youth or talent to build around. You will have a 90 OVR Safety, but that's about it.

Your kicker and punter are both good though.

San Fran 49ers. I put Nate Davis in at QB and pound the ball with Gore. Plus they don't really have that great a defense. But you can build up the O around Gore and Davis and build the D around Willis.

Re: Need Help Picking a Team!

I like the Dolphins. Trade Chad Pennington for anything. The running game is great. The ol needs some years under them because they r young, if you go after some rookies for RB replace ricky williams. fason as a te he is a beast and i cant remember about the backup. The wrs are not bad but they are not great you need to work with them too. There is a rookie wr tht as 88 catch name is joe walsh.. The D i think you need to work on the line with mix of both rusher and stoppers, the corners need some work. I love the playbook of the Fins. Using pat white is great
