It's not a crusade, and i'm sure myself and others who want a somewhat realistic experience aren't going to ignore him. Possibly you, but why ignore someone who wants to see this game improve? Like i've said, I feel there are some small flaws in this game that I can overlook, this IS NOT one of them. I mean if we are going to play a co-called sim game where ratings mean next to nothing, I don't even see the point of attaching the real player name's to these guys. If Mike Vick is a good blocker in Madden, then he doesn't really play anything like Micheal Vick does he? The same goes for Randy Moss playing CB.

That's amazing, you can ignore someone while simultaneously responding to them ???

That's exactly how I feel. I can overlook morphing ; I can over look suction blocking/tackling, stupid missed blocks by onlineman on user controlled teams and goofy looking running animations but I can't ignore the fact that ratings are meaningless. Ratings are what drives the premise of a sports simulation. Certian players are better than others, ratings are needed to simulate that. In Madden 10 the ratings are meaningless, so what are we really playing ? You can't call this game a football simulation when the ratings are irrelevant.

Re: Ratings and The Easter Bunny

Doesn't this make the game rather pointless in a large way?

I mean - it's fun to just play a football game, but when I play it, I want players to really emulate weaknesses and strengths in their real life counterpart. I've noticed too, that when I play as any random team against another - the result is almost always the same.

I can play as Cleveland and win several games against the top teams in the game without much problem. I've played random teams against the Vikings a few times, just because I want to play against AP, and just about every time I've held him to under 2 yards per carry. Especially because the AI using the Vikings runs the ball almost every play that isn't third and long (which brings the coaching into question).

I still play the game, and I enjoy it... But I definitely don't notice much of a difference between teams when I play it. I can play as any team, with the same strategy and get the same results each time.

What slider sets is everyone using that are giving them such lousy results? Please post them here. Thanks!

Re: Ratings and The Easter Bunny

I'm using DB's... They're not lousy results - they're simply always the same. If I can run with team X, I can run with team Y - regardless of running back ratings.

Sliders make it harder or easier - but they don't make teams/players play realistically, since it seems a lot of ratings don't really matter too much.
