Ok I can agree with this , but for myself I have no problem with "House Rules" and I try and keep a highly rated OL it just keeps it more realistic for me, Does it matter if I have Shaun O'hara a 87 ovr or a Rookie OL with 58 ovrl. To be honest I really dont know, but I'm going with Chris Snee over anyone else and I'm going to pay him big bucks, but thats just me.. I wish I had the time to test some of theses things. I know some put a punter in at OL for a practice, but I would like to see a full season Played not simmed with the real G-Men OL line against a OL of Punters and I pretty sure by week 4 and your 2.3 yd ave. with Jacobs you would feel differnt, since I have never had a yds ave below 5.0 with him in 2 and half seasons.

Agreed.

I just think it's all about the timing at this time.

I'd like to hear EA's side of the story. There is 3 sides to every story, yours, mine and the truth.

The timing element I'm bringing up is it's late in EA's patch development. I don't know if a ratings fix would make it into Madden 10, but maybe Madden 11.

If it's Madden 11, this should transfer to the Wish List forum once it's discovered.

Your asking for rating to be fixed when I'm not sure even there even broken! Now theses are my thought in no way am I a programmer or anything like that, but do you think by changing QB and Punters to OL or any player that makes them a 12 ovrl it confuses the AI, I'm pretty sure the programmers didn't program OL to be 12 ovrl and weigh 190 pounds. So by doing this the AI doesn't know how to act and they just block say a default OL if you can understand the point I'm tring to make. But if your saying there is no differnce between a 97 OL and 64 OL then I can back you up there and say that needs to be adressed

I don't have time to test these situations out. If people are saying it's proven on the net, all I'm saying is I want to hear EA's take on things.

The only thing I have seen on the net is a couple of guys showing one play of a punter blocking.. but I also dont go looking for this stuff...

Suddenly, knowing I could have signed ANY free agent to play OL (even a kicker) instead of the top RT didnt feel satisfying at all and the perceived, and fun challenge of building a successful franchise was gone. Just like the Easter bunny - you can imagine he is real but deep down you know the truth and it isnt the same.
That's similar to what happened to me. I would see a lot of things that happened and imagine that it had something to do with the ratings. I would scout players, discard them when they had a rating that I wasn't pleased with; I would go into to practice mode to practice featuring Desean Jackson & Westbrook. I decided to try what the OP was talking about after going tit for tat returning kickoffs for TDs( I returned 3, he returned 2). I said to myself " what the bleep was Ian thinking " ? I couldn't keep the wool over my eyes and decided to really test this game out and see if the OP was talking out of his butt, well he wasn't.

Re: Ratings and The Easter Bunny

I do have a question...

If ratings do not matter, then how does one arrive at the various outcomes from game to game, play to play, and from individual to individual?

Ex: How is it that a tackle can stop DeWayne White but not Elvis Dumervil? How do you rush for success vs one team but not another? Pressure the QB against one team but not another?
