Yeah, but it wasn't a field goal situation in the first place. When you're down two TD's with only a few minutes left, you have to go for the end zone, period.

Re: NFC Championship game/CPU clock managment

Yeah, CPU playcalling is really atrocious. Many times it has to do with the kcker if it's a field goal situation (which I realize yours wasn't). I've seen teams with weak legged kickers punt from the 25 (when they should atleast be going for it, no point in punting from the 25) and I've seen teams with strong legged kickers attempt 58 yard field goals.

However, with regards to not going for it in your situation, I probably would not play the Super Bowl and that would be that for my chise. I had an Eagles franchise and McNabb got hurt in week 14. Still made it to the Super Bowl and in the big game against New England, the Patriots did the same stupid stuff that the Saints did and I won because of it. So, needless to say, I stopped playing that franchise. It was the first time since Madden 05 that I had played every game in a season during a franchise, but the fact that I won the SB so cheaply made me not want to play it anymore.

Right, but 42 yards isn't terribly long by NFL standards. It's not a gimmie but we're not talking Tom Dempsey/Jason Elam territory either. This isn't high school, where even an extra point can be an adventure. Besides, if the regular kicker did have a weak leg, the team would either A. Cut him or B. Carry an extra kicker that did have a more powerful leg for longer FG attempts. You can't afford to be passing up opportunities for points. If you lose by two points because your didn't have a kicker with a range beyond 40 yards, the coach would be fired on the spot.

Seems reversed. If the cpu is blowing me out, they won't take a knee, rather, they'll keep running plays to end the game. If they're losing, they'll punt on fourth down.????

I think if you increase the kicking power it will fix this problem. Field goal power is wacked in this game. I can't make kicks from the 30 with Robbie Gould on the default settings.
