Any Tips or Guides for Playing Defense?

I have been playing Madden 2010 on XBOX 360 and really enjoy it. Recently I started to play online and it's become apparent to me that I suck at Defense. I have played 5 games and I am 0-5. But in each game (Ranked matches) I am dominating the time of possesion and creating nice long drives with scores, but the opponent comes back in almost every game and seems to capitalize on my lame defense skillset to score quickly and end up beating me.

I guess I am looking for any success stories on how to play respectable defense in the game?

I do realize that's a broad topic.
