Best way to fantasy draft vs other users?

I'm in an 8 man Online Franchise, and I don't know where to begin with my draft board...We draft tonight at 8.

I'm a huge Eagles fan, so that type of team is what I'm used to...Aggressive defense, speed offense with mobile-ish QB. I don't need to continue it, but I am just drawing blanks trying to hammer down a list of who to get first. I've just never been good at the whole fantasy thing. Typically I have some glaring holes (the OL and DTs) afterwards.

No idea about the picking order yet. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated...Whether it be OVR inflated players or lower OVR beasts.

I was thinking of waiting until the 5th to 6th round to grab a RB, as they seem to last forever but I may adjust if they drop like flies. I'm gearing towards Knowshon Moreno, Darren McFadden or LeSean McCoy. Every other position has me in a straightjacket.

Well, keep in mind there will be many more teams being drafted by the CPU logic. There's a great thread somewhere (don't feel like searching) that shows the computer's tendancy in drafting. That would surely help you.

Other than that, I've got to believe that most people will draft skill positions first (QB, RB, WR) and then defensive studs.

Also note that even mediocre MLBs adn OLBs make great DEs and great DEs are very hard to draft.

good luck.

you can always get good RB and QBs late, so don't feel like you have to draft a top QB or RB in the first round like in fantasy football. I'd focus on drafting defense and OLine for the first 4-5 rounds.

Re: Best way to fantasy draft vs other users?

For those who looked earlier, here is what I ended up with(Starters only)... I picked 22nd and whatever the invert of that is I'm too tired to look it up...All I know is I ended up with a lot of 1st day picks from the past 2-3 years...Low OVR but good in game.

QB: Matt Ryan (85)
HB: Marion Barber/Knowshon Moreno (88/81)
FB: Oren O'Neal (74)
WR: Michael Crabtree/Kenny Britt/DHB (82/76/70)
TE: Brandon Pettigrew/Martellus Bennett (80/75)
LT: Alex Barron (77)
LG: Mike McGlynn (72)
C: Leroy Harris (71)
RG: Duke Robinson (70)
RT: Gosder Cherilus (75)
LE: Darnell Dockett (93)
RE: Trent Cole (91)
DT: D. Peko/A. Okoye (80/78)
LOLB: Aaron Curry (84)
MLB: Patrick Willis (98)*
ROLB: Ernie Sims (87)
CB: Sean Smith/Tracy Porter/Brandon Flowers (79/78/77)
FS: Antrel Rolle (82)
SS: Atari Bigby (80)
K: Mike Nugent (70)
P: Pat McAfee (66)

*= denotes first pick

I went defense my first 5 picks before picking Matt Ryan. I missed out on a lot of WRs, but with the speed and size I have it will cause serious mismatches...

I think you'll do pretty well. The first year you might get out talented, but the progression you're going to get on some of those players will be flat out ridiculous. Peko progresses well with A potential. Willis stays awesome essentially forever (and when he starts to decline, you can switch him to SS and murder people coming into his zone). Curry and all your WRs and CBs are going to be awesome in 1-3 years.

Overall, great team in your 2nd/3rd year.

Thanks. That was my goal. My front 7 is going to have to win me games this year, but next year it's a new ballgame.
