i was playin my friend just before in Madden 10 - i was Panthers and he was the Patriots. I was losing 17-10 and i had him stopped on a 4th down in the 2nd quarter and he had a Shotgun play and Brady didn't pass but he PUNTED the ball and i was at the 3 yard line pinned deep. he always kept goin for it under the 30 and i didnt know if he was goin to do the Punt or Pass- how do i stop this!? i tried puttin one of my safeties deep to try and get the punt but its like a pooch punt.

It's a trick play that is the play book he is using.I don't think there is something you can do about this, if he is good at this than that is the way it is.

There is a play you can try to counter this.It's in special teams section on the playbook.Try one of the punt return options that play defence as well as cover the punt.You can try the i think its called 'dbl safe return' or something like that.

If you want to stop this try using the playbook he is using in practice mode with different types of defences in the punt return formation.

I have never tried any of these but good luck

Please tell me how too initiate/use these three operations in Coach Mode on the PS3:

1) Use the No Huddle...

2) Use the Offensive and Defensive audibles....

Patriots always have those sneaky plays. i do think its clever though and strategic. make someone think you're goin for it but its really a punt.

What the heck is that play? I've never seen it, and think I have gone through all the Patriot plays. It's cool that they have it in there, they used that play I believe it was two years ago

it is in Shotgun formation and its simply called "Punt" and the play looks like its going to be standard pass, but when you call hike its like a quick punt and I think Brady has like 40 kick power so the ball doesn't travel that far, its like a pooch kick and it catches you off guard. you think the guy is goin for it, but he just punts it and pins you deep. very good trick. aslong as they used it in real life, i dont care.

EDIT: to punt it, you just do it as if it's a normal pass - no arrow NOTHING to indicate its a Punt or Pass. its like "Precision Punt"

This is something that is not unique to the Patriots and it is nothing new.

John Elway used to do this frequently when the right situation would arise.
