Why do I keep dropping passes?

I am having a problem with the passing game. After I throw the ball, if I even touch the left stick slightly while the ball is in the air, the blue circle indicator switches to my receiver and he drops the pass.

What is going on here? Am I making my receiver run before he catches the ball so he's dropping it? Is there any way to catch the ball and still run without interrupting the catch?

Essentially, what is happening is I press the button to pass, my receiver catches it, and I delay a second before pressing the analog stick so he stops before he runs after the catch. How can I avoid this? Will holding Y (on 360) help? Thanks a lot, I can't have this happen anymore.

I have no clue what this problem really is. I guess your guy drops the ball randomly after he catches it? You should user catch and hold Y for possession catch. It helps me out alot. Bad receivers will still drop the ball every so often.

I've been having the same problem. If I just slightly bump the left stick, the receiver will drop it every time.
