Did I really just waste 4 weeks playing online franchise?

so i get in a franchise with 3 other guys from work, We all go with the same diviion in the nfc east. I get the redskins, go 9-7 on the season, 8-4 in the conference. I end up tied with S.F. at 9-7 and they're conference record is 6-6. I didnt play them h2h during the season. I also scored more points then them and gave up less then them during the season. How could I not get in the playoffs over them?

I think the first tie breaker is the in division record but I may be wrong.

that should only apply to more then one team in the same division going for the wildcard or division title as far as I remember, It wouldn't surprise me if they screwed this up as well.

here is what nfl.com has listed, thanks for letting me waste 4 weeks of playing a franchise with a piece of crap team EA Sports. how bout you guys take a look at this and maybe try to get the proper tie breakers in your game next year, what a f-in joke.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker. (does not)
If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.
Two Clubs
Head-to-head, if applicable. (no h2h game played)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. (me 8-4, S.F. 6-6)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss.
Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)

How did you waste 4 weeks? A lot of teams get screwed over in the playoff hunt in real life, maybe not like you did but screwed nonetheless.

It's only wasting if you got nothing out of it, now you know to do better then mediocre if you want to get into the playoffs.

umm... lets see, I wasted 4 weeks playing 2-3 games a week against my friends and the cpu in the franchise, only to go 9-7 with the god awful redskins,tied with the 49ers at 9-7 with a better conference record and get screwed out of the playoff spot because the tie breakers are not correct in the game.

Just wondering how something so basic to a franchise mode could be screwed up like this? it took me all of 3 seconds to google the tie breakers on nfl.com, yet a multi million dollar franchise thats supposed to represent the nfl gets it dead wrong? it's unacceptable.

So really, I did get nothing out of it except a waste of my time in reality.

It's been stated a few times... The first Online Franchise tiebreaker is points scored.

That can't be either, I out scored them 272-236, I'm just trying to figure out how they got in over me?
