Re: Hit SQUARE for more sacks!

I always use the square button to get the quarterback....Ive never use hitstick on the QB (unless hes running the ball) in all my years of madden

If you use this with the colts evert 1 out of 3 plays is a sack.. its getting to become a cheese.. and the steelers its like one out of 4 plays.. They need to make it so they dont dive 20 feet into the QB for a sack

Yes tried this last night with a three man rush I ended up getting two pick from the tackle and floating pass. One INT by a DT and one by a blitzing corner. Works better than hit stick.

Wow. That's a lot for one player. Never played a full season like that though but I did play one game against a buddy of mine in which I set a team record with 16 sacks. 7 with Leonard Little. lol

Re: Hit SQUARE for more sacks!

Yes this works!!

I have been using this since it was suggested back in like the first month the game came out. If you are running at the QB with momentum and you hit dive it goes into the animation where your guys grabs the QB by the upper body and brings him down. This does stop him from getting rid of the ball.

If you are not able to get a lot of momentum and you are just fighting to get to the QB I use the R stick as that seems to disrupt the QBs throw or sometimes even get the sack.

Everyone was under the impression that the QB getting rid of the ball just before he got hit was a mistake with the programming but I don't think so. If you are coming but wiht not a ton of momentum the QB will be able to get rid of it which is not unrealsitc. If you are coming and lunge at him it obviously is harder for them to get rid of the ball. The sacks in this game are perfect if you ask me.

(I know for sure that there have been plays where if I would have used R stick, the QB would have gotten rid of it cause the animation had already begun, but when I hit dive, it seemed like it trumped the throwing animation into a sack... which was nice

Anybody have any success?
Yes it works for me too. It looks a little wierd and it is a roughing the passer in real life. But using dive along with some slider adjustments(cpu pass blocking, user pass rush) I have actually generated a pass rush. I know there is an entire thread dedicated to "Ratings and the Easter Bunny" but now with my adjustments and using the dive button it would seem O-line and D-line ratings DO make a difference.
