Is Madden the Same Internationally?

I have friend who is overseas on vacation who tells me he can get 360 games cheaper. If I tell him to get me Madden, will the game be the same as the copies purchased in the states? Or will it contain a different update for my 360 that could screw something up?

Games in China are cheaper for sure. You can order the 'English' version of games off eBay, shipped for free, at least $10 cheaper than their American games if you are willing to wait about a week from release date. Other than a little chinese wording on the back of the case, the games play the same.

So, they don't contain different updates on them that would update my 360 console so it would be incompatible with US games?

Not as long as the game is region free.

How can I tell from the package?

That is a very good question. I usually look for it on the eBay posting, or pm the poster. I can't see anything on the cover of the games I own (most recently NHL 2K10) that says region free. Maybe someone else can answer or you can google it?
