Gun Snugs - the cheesiest

Today played a guy who ran this formation the entire game. I threw a lot of different defenses at him and had a couple opportunities for picks but my defenders dropped the pass. The only play that gave me even a little success was "Punt Block Man" it got me really quick pressure as his WRs were caught in the jostling animation.

I ran a more conventional offense and we went tit for tat the entire game with the other guy getting the victory.

what is the agreed upon method to stop this damn formation? In the right hands this things is worst than the wildcat.

I'm asking because I see plenty of write ups on how to run the offense but non on how to stop it.

What D playbook do you use?

Snugs is easy to stop, of course if your hot route your own players and put them in the right places on the field.

PRESSURE IS KEY! Dial up some blitzes.

That being said, I have problems when people use a lot of crazy looking blitzes. Like CFTejada said, there are a lot of coverages that once you move them around pretty much ruin most routes out of the formation.

i didn't run many zones on him. i stuck to the man blitzes. maybe that was the mistake but I'm telling you when i played that punt block defense it worked pretty well. I didn't think to try it until the 4th qtr though.

i've been messing around in practice mode and it seems i need to make sure i have some purple zones in my coverage. the flat zones don't cover the edges well enough.

i'm using the colts 4-3 which for me works just fine until i run up against this trash lol.

hey let's get a game. i've only run into a couple people who run this offense. I want to see if i can actually do something against it.

I run it. I don't think it is cheese. But I do think that EA does not have enough in the game defensively to deal with all of the offensive stuff they add every year. Just be glad one formation in the Saints playbook got altered based on community day testing because if it didn't everyone would be all over it. And they are running it now, but it is nowhere what it could have been.

1. i play a more conventional game. I have a few glitchy plays but i'm a lot more productive playing the conventional game.

2. i got nothing for that snugs flip. i threw a few different blitzes at you but couldn't get enough pressure and the success was inconsistent.

3. my blitzes are weak. not sure WTF you were doing to get all that pressure but it was crazy. i couldn't get any long plays off. i can't stand doing all the nano audibles to get pressure every play, but maybe that's the way to go
