An idea about removing overalls in the future

Yeah, I don't think the OVR would disappear, for reasons you mention and it probably is tied up somewhere into code into other reasons. I've heard it mentioned that it's used in progression, etc.

Not to mention tradition. Probably would get WAY more negative attention than it even deserves if OVR was even hidden but still exists as it does now.

Hiding it and potential would be good options to give the user.

And of course all the other HC-like stuff your ideas invoke would get my vote

Well, right now the way they have potential set up in madden your overall acts as the shutoff switch for progression once you overall reaches your potential. Hopefully next year they will go to a system more like HC09 where each rating has its own potential as it leads to a lot more variety and some questions as to whether people are able to move from one position to another successfully. Right now anyone can switch to any position and have the potential to develop into a star.

As far as all my HC ideas they will never happen, atleast not to full extent and properly implemented. There would be too much changing the "tradition" of the game kinda like the hiding overalls idea which I am not really against. I am just aware that it won't happen. Personally, I think their tradition is getting kinda stale and there really needs to be competition to mix things up there. Otherwise we will be stuck with very small steps in each game and a bunch of problems in an improperly balanced buggy game.
