Is Scouting Gonna Be Fixed?

Because we shouldn't be able to see potentials 8 months before the draft. It takes all the fun out of the draft when you already know someone s gonna be a bust, and when someone is gonna be a sleeper. It needs to be done like Head Coach where it shows you the Big Board and you get to see who is likely to get taken first. Also needs a mock draft.

I sure hope something is done about it. In real life you usually don't know a player's actual potential until he has played in the NFL a while.

Re: Is Scouting Gonna Be Fixed?

I stopped using the scouting feature because it was so poorly implemented. Why in the world did someone think that it was a good idea to scout players based on their potential? I understand that some players stock changes during the NFL season because of their college play, outside events, combine, and pro days but in general teams know who is going to go where in the draft. They should have let us scout players according to their projected spot in the draft and not show potential at all.

Maybe they could have given us a personal workout then provide general info about a players potential that we the player would have to determine if that player would have a high upside or not.(O how I miss HC 09 now lol)

I think the potential in the scouting is more representative of their ratin when they come in then their actual potential.

I don't even use scouting. It's too easy. It makes me mad when I see A.J. Cleary has the best potential, yet he is projected 2nd-3rd round. Why should I know now he will eventually be a great QB? If everyone knew that why would he be picked in the 2nd or 3rd round?

Re: Is Scouting Gonna Be Fixed?

Agreed, but the whole scouting/drafting process needs some attention. It is so tedius to go into each player's combine details, to see who to scout. For crying out loud, just let us scroll through stuff like that. Stop giving us so many sub 4.45 40 WRs with sub 4.00 acceleration; reality doesn't have that many WRs so fast. Stop with the canned drafts. Fix the importing draft classes from NCAA. Oh, and most of all, make the ratings actually matter. Why do we keep seeing things NFL2k5 did better five years ago?

Nope, it's their actual potential rating.

Stuff like that is common in the NFL. The year Matt Leinart, Vince Young, and Jay Cutler came out it was pretty clear that everyone felt Leinart would be the best passer out of the box, but Cutler had the room to develop (which is exactly what happened, although Cutler is a horrible leader and game winner, which was his knock also btw). How these scouts know things like this is beyond me. Hell, I remember when JaMarcus Russell was drafted they admitted his upside wasn't very high but his arm strength and size made him appear to be a superstar. Pay close attention when draft time comes in real life. You hear people all the time say a player projected to be a 3rd rounder has more upside than guys taken in the first.
