Accelerated Clock

I'm looking to get the close to normal amount of plays run in a game, what accelerated clock setting should I choose with what minutes in the quarter length?

Depends on your play style. But I use 15 min Q with 25 sec accel clock to get aorund 125-130 total plays per game.

I'm the Bears so I run a little more than I pass. How long does it take you to play that game?

~a little over an hour.

Just try it, and keep and eye on play totals at half time.

You want around 125 plays total. So at half time you should see about 30 for each team.

Re: Accelerated Clock

Does this make the T.O.P. increase or decrease? I been playing on 15 minute quarters with 15 second runoff, and I played Colts in the superbowl last night, and we were both popping off 5-6 minute drives everytime, even a few 7 minute drives. Will the 25 second run off increase or decrease this?

Again it depends on play style.

See, I use 25 accel clock because I choose my plays quickly. So the play clock isnt bleeding away much as I'm choosing. then it zips down 25 secs after I choose.

Lets say it took me 10 seconds to decide on a play every time. and I used 15 sec accel. That would the be the same as if I used 25 accel and always chose my play instantly.

So, it depends on your personal play style.

I dont think it should affect TOP though... If you stink at Medden an have lots of 3 and outs, it wont matter the accel clock. The CPU is going to have control for more TOP.

Basically in real life there is usually less than 10 secs on the play clock when most NFL teams actually snap. Thats the point of the accel clock. Cuz in real life the huddle takes time, lining up takes time... but in Madden you hit "B" and zoom.. there you are lining up. So the accel clock simulates the huddle and all having occured even though you looked at a play book for 2 seconds and hit "A" or B" or watever.

I would just try 15 min Q's, with 15 or 20 sec accel first. And see how many plays occur on average total by the end of the game. If theres more than 125 or so by the end of the game. Try upping it to 25 accel.

Re: Accelerated Clock

I do fine with 10-12 minutes with 15 seconds accelerated. Good luck.

Re: Accelerated Clock

10 min with 15 second runoff makes it feel pretty realistic to me.
