I'm currently in the offseason, entering my 3rd year of my franchise, re-ordering my depth chart. How come I'm getting different overall ratings for my players when I'm looking at them in depth chart and player management?

Depth chart:
Avery WR ovr90

Player management:
Avery WR ovr85

I noticed some of my other vets on the team have increased overall ratings as well, but the rookies I just drafted do not have an increased overall rating. Just wondering whats going on?

in the player management screen coach bonuses are added in.

shouldn't that mean that the overall ratings in player management should be higher than depth chart then?

maybe in this case the coach reduce them by 5

Yes there are many coaches that impact a team negatively in ratings....

I never quite understood why - all that does is make people oblivious to that stuff suffer, and people who notice it less likely to hire that person. Should just be an addition or nothing.

No matter, I usually just hire the former players. Having your DC be Ray Lewis is pretty ****in' boss.

IMO every coach should bring something to the table and it should never impact players negatively

seems to me like they really got lazy on that part of the game.

In response to the original question. I always concluded that the depth chart scores players differently then player management. The obvious example is assigning a CB to the FS spot and actually having his OVR increase.

I know you're referring to a WR staying in the WR position, but I can't help but think then same rules apply. You would think the player management screen would score the same as the depth chart, but may be they're a little different for the same position?
