Re: Now I understand that QB's throw bad passes.....

If you have watched a Bears game for the last several years you would know that this does happen in the NFL.

Sometimes even 3-5 times in one game.

And don't say he is such a great QB that wouldn't do that kind of thing. He isn't that good.

I would say they could use more animations for incomplete passes though.

But as to throwing it to the defense 3 times in a game, well it happens.

Re: Now I understand that QB's throw bad passes.....

part of the problem with incomplete passes is that just like every other aspect of madden, the catching animations are not fluid and they suction to the ball

there are tons of passes in game that should be just out of the reach of the receivers, but the WR is able to get a little boost to get there... likewise there are often passes that are thrown behind receivers, but then the receiver usually just runs in place or does a little slow down stutter step animation so it hits him perfectly in stride

the core engine for how the game works will never allow for the type of incomplete passes that are realistic... until that is changed the passing game will remain largely unchanged. Unless they can somehow GREATLY reduce the range the ball has to be in to trigger a catching animation, that could be a possible solution (if you look at the WR catching slider, putting it at 100 makes this "suction" range huge, while at 0 it makes it nice and small, except it also makes WR's drop everything... they need to seperate the animation range from the actual catch success so that we can change one but not the other)

I don't mind that bad QB's miss, but I don't like that they always miss the same way.

They always overthrow the receiver. I would like to see some hit the dirt in front of the receiver or a few under thrown.

I'm in the conference championship game in my Raiders franchise with 67 rated JaMarcus Russell. I understand when I have to throw, Russell is gonna throw some bad balls. But on 3 seperate occasions I had a receiver WIDE open and Russell threw a great ball....to the defense.

Now I understand that there has to be overthrows, underthrows, etc. If Rusell would have missed them...hey, no problem. But he threw a perfect pass to a defender on the other side of the field....3 times!

It just felt super scripted. Cost me a trip to the super bowl!
That sounds like the real life Russell.

i see lots of bad throws that dont hit the defense.
the one i see the most is WAYYYYY overthrown deep passes.

its crazy cuz it will be with a qb with low DAC that he will throw the ball 60 yards. i dont get it

No.

No QB, I don't care how bad he is, throws perfect passes to the defense (who is not even near the receiver).

Try playing with Peyton Manning. You'll never miss a pass.

I started a franchise with Cassel. And the differentiation in skills between him and Manning is perfect.

Leading with Cassel results in some dumb picks. But its good.

Doesn't happen as much in real life as it does in Madden and so the basic argument I agree with but it does happen...
