How to keep an offline franchise fresh?

I just looked at my save files..and I have 5 franchises that I have no desire to continue...All different teams, but I seem to get bored after season 4..I typically sim the season and play playoffs if I make it.

Is there any way to keep the offseason or any part from being dull? I've played the game so much I know the good rookies names by heart...

i jus ran into the same problem but im about to reinvent things by doing the 32 team franchise.
i figure it would take up much more time and make things more interesting since i can make those crucial decisions the cpu jus cant seem to make such as trading one of the panther's rb's.

Re: How to keep an offline franchise fresh?

I can only imagine how long that would take to set up...probably almost as long as the fantasy draft i did entirely by hand.

EDIT: During the draft, it seems that 7 picks is too much in Madden, but I can have 20 picks in HC09 and not have it affect anything...Is that due to a lack of a mandatory cut? I think so...but I do think in M11 it should have more HC-like draft/offseason.

Fantasy draft entirely human???
wow, applause to you. i jus dont have the patience for that one.

but setting up the sliders for each team before the season didnt take that long.
maybe 10 minutes.

i jus simmed 8 games to see if i got it right and now im about to go back and adjust to get it better.
i'll maybe be done in the next 15 minutes so all in all i would say its taking 30-40 min to set up.

offline franchise is 90% of my madden playing so i dont mind the micro managing.

Re: How to keep an offline franchise fresh?

Yeah, it's about the same for me. And yes, took about an hour and a half or so for a 7 round, 32 pick fantasy all by hand.

I like the idea of having so much control, but it's a shame the user has to set house rules to avoid abusing the CPU AI.

good links man.
i actually follow most of those "house rules"

yes it is a shame the devs cant make the most important mode of the game play correctly.

You could also use NCAA exported draft classes to mix it up, so you don't know the whole draft class by heart.
