That's football, sometimes players make the wrong choice in the heat of the moment. Games like that make me enjoy playing these football games.

I just blew a huge win in NCAA against the cpu after lobbing a pass to a WR near the sideline. After the completion he got wrapped up by a defender and I saw my FB right behind him, so I tried to lateral him the ball and he fumbled. It was recovered by a LB and he ran back 50 yards for a TD.

They should have a button to swat the ball down when you are on offense

I notice in those types of games, the CPU ai will call a lot more crossing routes. For which, the defending AI is pitiful. Pass protection is way better for the CPU. Catching gets a huge boost for the CPU players, and a huge cut for the HUM ones.

I've seen some people here comment that "The CPU picks the winner before the game." While I don't 100% believe that, I do believe that the CPU does give behind-the-scenes boosts and cuts to the sliders. In cases where you've been on a roll, maybe blowing out the CPU in a couple games, they will come back like hellfire in the next game, regardless of what team you play.

I've always wondered about stuff like this.

Might also account for how varied the games are. Some sort of randomness modifier in place either on the sliders or the ratings themselves.

Would be pretty interesting if that was the case.

That would make the trick to sliders working with this is get them to where they are "touchy" and then the modifier can make them swing one way or another (assuming this is true).

Between things like this and the rivalry games - they can be totally insane sometimes with the difficulty.

I remember seeing controllers made out of Nerf a couple years ago. You should get one of those just for late game situations. Lol.

Having broken a controller before on a couple occasions, I know your frustration.

EDIT: Boom!

In all fairness you were using the Browns. Something like this was bound to happen.

Actually, I believe it is the same button as swat on defense,

I know it is in there because I was playing a game today, down by six late in the game, threw a beautiful pass to a wide open WR - easy TD, until I switched to him and tapped (I think the L1) accidentally as I switched to the WR (rookie and I had no faith he would catch it) and he spikes the damn ball like he is playing volleyball in the olympics - I mean he got way up in the air and just killed the ball into the turf. I actually had to laugh after watching the replay about twenty times, the first twenty times though I was cursing like you wouldn't believe!
