Re: Article: Building Secondary In Franchise Mode

The discussion on how much the Man or even zone coverage rating works and what exactly it means to the game play is one I would love the Devs to address.

I have said many times in these forums that I believe that the "position specific" attributes are where EA should focus when making distinctions between players in future Madden games.

Those attributes should allow you to have two nearly identical players, let's say WRs with the same -ht, wgt, spd, acc, agi cth and awr, but one has a 85 route run and the other is a 95 route run - that should be a significant difference and it should be easily noticeable in the game play.

Say you use them in the same game, vs the same CB with 85 Man COV and that CB is very similar in size, speed, AWR, and agility, the 85 RR WR and that CB should be in a "battle" where the CB is close all game with one or the other winning the match-up at random, the 95 RR guy should have an advantage and be "creating separation" more frequently within that match-up! Not that the DB would get "burnt" every play, but by his skill he should win more 1 on 1 battles in that game and be more likely to have a step coming out of his break!
