How do you get stretch plays to work?

Even when I put both my TE's on the side I'm running to, have a fast back, and slide my line to block that way, I cannot run a stretch play for a gain of 1 yard.

The DE or OLB always sneaks off the edge blocker and stops me for a 2 yard loss.

Every time.

For me, stretch and toss plays really only work against man defenses, as the blocking not good enough. Pretty much, adjust your blocking, and be patient behind your blockers, and dont just bust it way outside everytime.

HERE'S SOME THINGS TO USE BRO:

slide protection is a big help. you can slide the opposite direction,it seems to seal the edge,or slide toward the run and look for the cut back lane.

Usually let the de or olb tell u where to go.if he beats your te to the outside,use the quick cut and go inside as well.

motion your wr and hike the ball when he gets next to the te,he usually chips the defender.

last but not least,sub your te for a backup OL,it helps ALOT!

and lay off the sprint button till you get past the line.

I'd like to see them fix this play next year so that the OLine actually gets some lateral movement and the RB can either kick it outside or cut back.

They need to rebuild the entire blocking mechanics (or lack of it) in Madden 2011.

Slide protection away fromthe play side? Interesting. I always slide protected towards the play side, to no avail.
