THey are removing the salary cap from the Franchise?
WHY? this game is going backwards!
I do know this Salary cap never worked, but don`t remove it from the game, just make it work!
No, the NFL (as it is right now) will not have a salary cap in 2010. This is due to some troubles coming up with a new CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) between the owners and NFLPA.
My comment above was regarding the poor trade, free agency and game-planning logic that is broken and/or completely missing from Madden in general.
I realize that they wanted to get the bare-bones set up for franchise mode, but for the mode to be this terribly lacking?! There is no excuse other than they are focusing their development on other areas and letting the most important factors struggle.
Either way, I hope they give us the option to have it on or off. Our OF has developed a very deep salary structure of its own, and I personally like it better than what they've given us because salary programs can tend to be buggy but a system that's user-created can be adjusted on the fly, avoiding bugs.

If it is more user-friendly and creative, it is also going to be open to more exploits.
They should have an option for the rules in the NFL before free agency. If you were drafted by a team you have to stay with that team for so long before another team can sign you unless traded etc. etc.
This would be a lot more fun than just not having a salary cap at all.
