I know this feature has been in Madden for a few years, but I don't understand the exact purpose. Does the player's INJ rating improve? In the real world, when a player is put on IR, it opens up a roster spot. However, this isn't true in Madden. So I inquire, what's the point?

I think it frees up their salary so it gives you room under the cap to sign a replacement, but no it doesn't free up a roster spot (unfortunately)

It needs to be fixed for next year. IR is pretty much a waste since you can't sign a new player.

Wow, I didn't even realize it freed up their money. At least that makes it somewhat useful, though not freeing up the roster spot is madden(ing)... heh heh
