but when I export that team can I edit that teams rosters in regular gameplay mode and use them in games?

when you say edit rosters, you can edit their depth chart during play now games, practice, and thats it...

Oh okay nvm then. My main goal of this was to be able to edit the rookie players I imported from an NCAA 2010 file. I can get the rookies on the franchise but I cannot edit their ratings or anything because it is in franchise mode. So I was hoping I could get those rookies in regular gameplay mode where I could edit ratings. I guess that is not possible though...

No, once you start a franchise the ratings are locked.
