Teams defense and signing players to fill needs

So the 49ers default defense is a 3-4, even if you change it in settings, they run a 3-4 (I'm guessing) when you sim the game. It seems like this causes certain player to not want to sign. I struggle to sign some of the top rated defensive free agents and I am thinking it's because I can a 3-4? Any one else notice anything like this?

If that's not the reason, any idea why? These DE's are high 70's and they never want to sign. I also have trouble signing a Guards too. I don't know why I have problems signing guys at those positions, I just do.

I don't think it has anything to do 3-4 Defense. They may just not have an interest in signing w/ the 9ers
