Well Mark Sanchez beat Carson Palmer today so yes Usc did produce a great qb since Palmer. Matt Cassel did have some success in the nfl. So usc does produce decent qbs pretty often.

Mark Sanchez did not beat the Bengals. The New York Jets and their number 1 ranked rushing offense and their number 1 ranked overall defense beat the Bengals...

Thank you...

The NE decline while he was there is much more the fault of the GM than the head coach. Not to mention it was Bledsoe throwing 3 times the amount of INTs than TDs in the last 8 games of Carroll's time at NE. Do you really think that Carroll hasn't progressed as a coach through his tenure at U$C? Bill Bellichick was 36-44 through his first 5 seasons. Mark Sanchez is going to be a hell of a QB... Caroll's specialty is defensive backs... as he started his NFL career as a DBs coach with the Bills. Troy Polamalu ring a bell? What other college team has produced 3 1st round draft pick QBs since Palmer was drafted?
And as I said in my previous post, USC is a pro factory, but their QBs aren't the best in the league... Palmer is good, but he hasn't really done anything GREAT!!! Sanchez is looking good, but he has a solid team around him so far. Simply having your players drafted doesn't mean that they're good players... Here's and interesting read for you... Remember, having MORE players picked over all also increases the chances of one of them being a phenome. But when taken as an over all...

And as for the Hoodie, don't get me started on that one... He got good once he started cheating his @ss off. Now that he's back to playing clean, you're seeing the real Patriots. A team that has the benifit of being in a weak division, resulting in an easy schedule year after year. To ignore Spygate is to simply be blinded beyond reason by the media whore that is the NFL.

Your argument is still pointless. If their QBs aren't the best in the league then what college's QBs are? What school produced the most and the best QBs in the last 10 years? Their QBs may not be the best in the league but combined they are still better than any other school. No other school even comes close! Palmer is one of the best QBs in the league. The verdict is still out on Cassel, Sanchez and Leinert. No other school has even put 4 QBs out there to start, let alone 3 currently starting, when Warner retires it'll be 4 starting QBs!

The argument, in case you forgot, was if Carrol was a good NFL coach and not what school makes the best NFL players... To solidify my point, in the pregame to the Saints game, they addressed it and all agreed that he'll be in, make his money and be gone after one contract cycle with little to nothing to show for it... Pete Carroll = Bad NFL coach.

As a side note, they've created just as many busts as they have stars!

If you have created as many stars as busts then you are doing one hell of a job especially given the number of stars they have created. Carroll is a defensive coach. Most of his stars are defensive players. I don't care what any of the guys in the NFL pre-game shows are saying. They are the same guys that predicted Jamarcus Russell and Alex Smith would be awesome 1st overall picks. They are the some of the most east coast bias guys in the NFL. Only time will tell how he does. If he goes 27 and 21 in his first 3 years like he did with the Patriots that could be good enough to win 3 consecutive NFC West titles in that weak conference, especially with Warner retiring. And what do you mean worse than Mora Jr? Only time will tell. There are arguments to each side of the story. Carroll knows how to win with the right talent but whether or not the right talent will show up in Seattle is a big question mark.

And this leads to my original frame of mind... His best asset is his ability to draw in huge talent. Not develop tallent or anything else. Even Troy Palamalu who's a beast and one of the best at his position of all time, developed greatly under the direction of the coaching staff in Pittsburg, more so then he did in college. As a rookie, he was decent, no question, but under the Steelers coaching he became what he is today. So, since there is no recruiting in the NFL, Carroll's biggest asset, his recruiting, is a moot point. He can't use it any more then he could use being a champion line dancing master. So, for that reason, he'll be an average coach at best. That was my point... He's no Tuna, he's no Dungy... He is what he is, a college coach who's had great success at THAT level, but has yet to show that he can win at a higher level when made to work with what he has on hand. That's all...

As for this thread... It would be nice to have the creat a coach feature as a regular part of the game, preventing this kind of thing to even be needed in the first place, but it's a good idea for the time being...

That makes absolutely no sense at all. Polamalu was the 16th overall pick of the NFL draft, first safety taken. This means he developed greatly under USC's staff to make it to that point. What more could Carroll's staff do to develop Polamalu? The fact that USC has all of those busts could even mean that they developed under USC to at least do what they were supposed to do in win at the college level and maybe their NFL coaches couldn't get the most out of them like Carroll did.
