We need a better way to identify how people play.

Very true... People will loose and cry foul every single time... Though I'm not opposed to some feedback, like reporting a glitcher to EA, what was said should have nothing to do with how you choose who you play against...

That being said, stats can lie as well... Like the assumption that a guy who throws the ball to the flats 85% of the time is a cheeser, when all he's seen so far are people who flat out blitz all the time... Which leads to quick passes...

I completely agree, but that's why you just give the person the information they want and let them choose. If your stats say that, oh well. It's the truth and fact, as opposed to someone else give you a rating of "Poor sportsmanship" because you gave them a beating.

I still say do online like Call of Duty. Get rid of win/loss and go with leveling up by completing challenges. Players start with their favorite division and thier playbooks. Leveling up allows you to unlock new teams, playbooks, uniforms, etc..

This would encourage players to run with different teams and game plans if they want to level up. Ps2 even had a good template for challenges that could award you points that was used to collect madden cards on that system.

The problem now is people are only rewarded for winning games and so the cheesers that covet their records will do anything to accomplish that.

See, that's a perfect example of a game where its system would be TERRIBLE with Madden or any other sports game.

Encourage "leveling-up" and what do you get? People taking advantage of every glitch imaginable for the sole sake of having a "level" in a video game, playing each other just to be "higher."

Look at all the patches they needed to stop people from doing all sorts of stupid things in COD.

It's already a win-at-all-costs mentality online, don't do anything to encourage it.

People take advantage of every glitch madden has now just to win games so they can level up. Intentionally taking delay of game penalties for hours so they don't take a loss for example. At least CODs method would reward players who are trying other things and teams.

People here are discussing how to identify these individuals somehow... you're suggesting reward them for trying other teams?

How does that help those looking for a specific style of player?

I'm suggesting if people aren't rewarded only for winning, and punished only for losing, the result would be fewer cheesers to worry about and less of a need to identify them.
