How many games do you watch on Sundays through out the year? Does that ever get boring?
Yeah, agreed - More on-field type presentation would certainly be great, especially in real time.

When I watch games (say the SD/NYJ game) -

I see replays, some graphics/stats. The stat banner showing more info than Madden's under the score banner. Commentators talking about plays that happened previously or breaking down the replays, displaying the starters on offense and defense during the opening drives of the game. The down and distance displayed on the field as an overlay (like the yellow and blue lines). Commentators talking about the importance of the game. Flesh out the pre-game comments Madden DOES have (step in the right direction)

Things like that I'd love to see during the games even more than better pre-/post-game and halftime shows.

Changing camera views as the play is in progress would be interesting, especially if they keep the broadcast view in the game.

Re: MAdden Big Announcement

the only thing that would be acceptably groundbreaking for me personally would be an announcement of a new refined gameplay engine that has been in the works for several years now by another team. This new enhanced engine would utilize real physics, weight, height and ratings that actually determine realtime results rather than repeated prescripted motion captured animations that get triggered and used over and over whether its Randy Moss or Reggie Wayne, or Larry Fitzgerald!

I want to see a variety of realistic sound effects in the trenches of grunts and pads hitting rather than hearing the same generic crunch whether my player gets popped or tripped up by the ankles!

I'd like to see real player and team distinctions and different coaching AI's for each team that play real strategic football to try and win rather than AI cheats

I'd like to see player ratings that also take into account, consistency, confidence, maturity as well. I want to see player's get rattled, I'd like to see players make mistakes!

I'd like to see recievers who can run excellent routes...and I want to see recievers that dont. I want these ratings to mean something

I want to see players and teams have certain comfortabilities with playbooks they run and likewise, execution penalties for teams trying to perform plays outside of their experience.

I want offensive and defensive coordinators to bring new playbooks into their portfolio and teams would have to become proficient at them before excellent results are achieved

These are just some of the things I expect Madden to bring to the table to elevate their stale franchise over the years....I dont want to see another gimmick feature like create a fan, sign, or referee.

I dont care how accurately row 24 section B section seating is in Giants stadium, I want better, deeper, richer and more strategic football that rewards me for using my head in addition to my fingers.

Maybe I am alone....who knows

I read that natal uses up over 10% of processing power or something, so it's unlikely to be related to that if they wanted to keep the same level of graphics etc

At the risk of sounding really stupid...what exactly is "real time presentation" and how is it different than what we're used to?

Umm no offense to the OP, but the title of this thread is very misleading. Did I miss something? What is the big announcement? In fact, there hasn't been one thing about an announcement in here lol.

Essentially, instead of cutscenes, the camera follows the players after plays, rather than immediately going to the next play or cutscene. MLB 10 The Show and MLB 2k10 are gonna use this as well...

^^^ I don't know how it would work with Madden right now. They'd have to create new animations to fit that because right now what the players do after plays is definitely not anything to make a big deal of in terms of making it a feature focus.

Far from alone Lisa.

You bring up some very good points. Things that have been mentioned in one form or another for quite awhile. Hopefully one day soon, we'll start to see some of these things come to Madden.
