Does a player progress have anything to do with wether they are a first, second, or third string?

For example: Will my first string RB progress more points than my 2nd or 3rd string RB? All three being A potential too.

i don't think so...
and i've seen 2nd string guys with little playing time progress faster then the player in front of him.

Yeah, my 1st string has a 8.0YPC and my 2nd string has 6.0YPC

Yes it does... or at least to me.

I simmed a season with nothing but the worse players starting and my best players on the bench. Almost every guy who would have started dropped. IE Patrick Willis, Vernon Davis, Josh Morgan etc..Crabtree is one of the few who actually progressed a litte, by 2 points. He usualy goes up anywhere between 6-8 points.

Not sure what all players into player progression, but I think the guys getting playing time does have some sort of impact. Or it could have been a fluke...

I was thinking the same thing about their playing time and their contribution to the team. Cause all my CBs are A potential but only the 2 starting CBs progress more than just 2-3 poins.
