Where is my Linebacker going?!?

I'm sure this happens to everyone else but i have never seen anyone make a comment about it.

Ok so i play a lot of Zone/Zone blitz. i normally come out in a cover 2 or cover 3 and assign the blitz's or coverages presnap manually.
When the opposing team comes out in a 3 or 4 wr set and i assign a linebacker to blitz when he was originally assigned zone or man he will run out to where the 3rd or 4th wr is and blitz from there after i click to the next player.

Now it's useless for me me to blitz him from that far out so i have to run him back to where i need him to be blitzing. This is very annoying esspecially if i want him in a specific gap to stuff a suspected run.

Anyone else get this problem or know what the deal is?

Is it the man-align kicking in?

Maybe do your blitz adjustment, do the man-align option (which seems to turn it off as it appears to be on by default), then switch control?

Does he still run out as if he were in man coverage on a WR?

I don't do a lot of manual defender positioning, so I admit to having a lack of experience.

I've used the R1 then Left or Right on the R stick to set a hot blitz for an OLB, but he never did that to me before - but I don't do manual positioning.
