Grass and Turf in 09/10

how do you guys feel about the field definition in the recent madden games.

I for one feel that the grass and turf is overly detailed. which might sound bizzare but when I watch on TV i feel that there is a more matty feel to the turf.

It seems like we see too many blades of grass

now don't take this the wrong way by any means, but i don't care about the grass.

i feel importing that matty look into madden wouldn't work out as well as one would think...it would require new animations to make it not look like you're running on true grass, but turf instead (a bit more fluid movement)....not like they look like it to begin with, but yeah...anyways..

The grass right now holds up on a 65" TV, which is nice. It's a little dark (too many highlights), but it's still the best looking grass in any football game to date.

The one thing they need to fix relating to graphics, that kind of has to do with the grass (and players), is the very DARK shadows under the players feet. That's something you never see on the field, and it creates an unrealistic separation between the players and the field. There are shadows cast by players due to the lighting, but for some reason it's appears darker under the players feet.

I agree about the grass...it looks like a shag carpet in Madden. Also, another thing, which I have pointed out a LONG time ago, is that the game just has a darker tint to it. Looking at those two pictures, the real one is MUCH brighter whereas Madden it just looks overall too dark.

The grass is over-detailed. They need to blend it more and lighten up the dark areas.

I think the grass in Madden 08 looked spot on.
