into the free agent pool? If I recall correctly, last year you could release players like Barry Sanders, Montana, etc into free agency. Whats the deal with this? Can it be done but I just haven't figured it out or what lol?

I enjoyed that. I would bring in the NCAA draft class and release 2 old greats per year in franchise mode.

You should be able to go to rosters, player management, and then look at the NFL legends or greats or what ever they are called and select the player you want to "cut" and that will release them to free agency.

Thanks for the feedback, but I think that you can only cut players from the actual teams in the game. I'm going to try it out to see if I missed something, but the only options I saw when looking at legends were, biography and one other thing. It wasn't release or cut into free agency though.

I'll check again.

You have to do it before you start a franchise I'm pretty sure.

Not directly I don't think, that was more the historical teams rather than individual players (who are licensed individually, like they were for APF2k8).

If thats the case, that solves the mystery. Thats strange because last year it could be done within franchise mode in between seasons. I remember because I would release 2 per year.

If you have to do it before you even start a franchise that would throw everything off. Means you would have to release the whole list at once, I dont think thats the case man.

Still haven't checked again yet. I'll see when I get back to it.

If you wanted the whole in franchise then yes you would have to release them all.
