Re: This is Presentation!

Presentation has never been a strength when it comes to EA football games. Even though they made strides, Madden 10's presentation lacked flow and became repetitive rather quickly.

I just watched The Show videos, and the presentation is running laps around Madden. The presentation is varied, in-sync, and most importantly flows with the action.

Thank you!! If the Madden team really can get the game to look like The Show in terms of presentation, that really would be something.

Agreed.

Of course there is a percentage of gamers who despise EA for their own reasons.

But imo also, the vast majority of criticism that Madden gets is because of Madden...not EA. And your right t11...FIFA and NHL are very highly thought of. And I believe it's because their just dang good sports games. With a very nice level of polish.

....if you want to feel that way, then turn the commentary off and change your camera angle.
It's better for it to be there for you to turn off, than not at all

COMPLETELY disagree!!!!

I don't wanna feel like I'm there in person. Thats easy...just turn off the commentary. I like the feel that I'm controlling a game on TV. Thats why so many of us are big on presentation.

I feel the same way. The Show is my favorite game. But Ian and company are well aware of The Show. I think they're striving for that level but it HAS just been one year.

Re: This is Presentation!

that looks really really good. I agree that the presentation immerses you into the game more. Makes you feel more like your playing a more realistic game. Yea, yea, yea, sure If i want to play a real game, I could go play for real football, but thats not what I want to do. I want to play a football video game that not only plays well but looks well and presents itself as if it we're a real game im watching on TV.

It can't hurt to have great presentation in a game. Ues, the Gameplay is the most important feature, but no matter what, developers are going to look for gimmicks and selling points to be able to present in advertisements when the game is ready for release. Improved presentation will definetly grab a selective audience. Especially those who still can't let go of NFL 2k5 and its ESPN presentation.

and I already do that, but i'd love some upgrades for this. I want to hear more player interaction IE an opposing player talking smack to me. Instead of seeing a replay I'd rather hear/see my coach call the next play or a teammate giving me props/bashing me because of the success or failure of the last play. At the end of quarters I don't care to see a graphic with the score instead show me the stadium scoreboard and maybe coaches interacting with players going over adjustments. At halftime I definitely don't care to see a lame attempt at a broadcast halftime show I'd rather be in the locker room seeing players get medical treatment and a coach drawing plays on a blackboard. Again, I totally understand that some people want the broadcast stuff and I'm not bashing that by any means. Just saying I'd really like something different for us that don't care for that kind of presentation and achieving that is obviously much more involved than simply "turning the commentary off"
