i know what you mean about the WR needing to break to the sideline more but the main reason why comebacks don't work 95% of the time is because of the CB's. They always break before the WR's and since their still is no true depth of field you can't drop it over the defenders. The CB jumps every route and comebacks are easy to pick off because it is such a hard throw.

if you throw it correctly it doesn't look nearly that bad. the corner was matched up well with the receiver and you threw the ball a bit early on it. the route could be executed better in game no doubt, but posting a video of a well covered route doesn't mean it's totally broken.

also try using precision passing on those routes. the ball will be placed in a better area, but when the corner is that tight on your guy it's time to check down.

Good Point! As you see when I slowed it down the CB broke BEFORE the receiver did? Good call! Just another problem that needs to be fixed with running the route correctly.

No...

And the reason why, The corner has his hips turned to defend the deep route as he is in deep coverage right there. That is completely unrealistic of him to beat the WR to the comeback because

a) The WR knows where he is running, the CB does not

b) The Corners hips are turned meaning all his foot speed is going deep, meaning it would take him 1 to 2 steps before he could cut back with receiver...

Your compensating for how the game plays and thats fine, but as for the laws of real football and physics it is completely wrong...

The onlything I can't stand is how the AI mirror images the human controller WRs. That whats needs to be fixed aswell in madden 11. Hopefully it will get fixed. We will know more what is going on later this month when they put out a blog in late march about it.

yes.

are you suggesting that this route works 100% of the time in the NFL when a corner is in one on one coverage with a wr? when a db is playing one on one like in that video they are trying to run strider for stride with the wr so they can react to any break the wr makes. madden does animate a db in good coverage very well because usually what you see on sundays is the db running with his hand resting on the back of the wr in order to give himself a feel for what the wr is doing.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/17407887

in that video i have cotchery trying to run the route on revis in man coverage. revis runs with him stride for stride and cuts back to the ball with the receiver. revis is the best corner in the league because of his ability to turn his hips and get into position to make faster and more consistently than anyone else, but other guys are totally capable of making this play they just won't make it as often.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/17407918

in this video we have edwards working on sheppard a much more favorable matchup for the offense. edwards ends up dropping the ball but that isn't what is important here. on this play edwards had the threat of beating sheppard deep which creates the opportunity for edwards to break it off and come back to the ball.

so all i'm saying is that while the play you are complaining about is animated very poorly, the result is not unrealistic. what makes it seem so unrealistic is the lack of realistic animation to go with the outcome of the play.
