C'mon now, you don't know 'what' they are focusing on. For all we know they are focusing on the grass again.

They'll work on both, but no telling which takes priority. The gameplay should get the majority of the work. If we end up with M10 gameplay and better presentation, what's the point of buying?

For me at least the gameplay was near spot on and all the little touches are awesome. Now, I need to see the little things in presentation that will make me go wow.

???

What about....

  • Movement (footwork, momentum, acceleration)
  • Passing Mechanics (ball trajectory too low)
  • Lack of Route Based Passing
  • Zone issues with Under Routes
  • Instant turns (covered with quick circle animation)
  • Inside/Outside coverage meaningless due to instant QB reads by DBs
I could go on... there are a TON of gameplay changes that need to be made.

I voted gameplay, but I'm surprised at the number of responses like this... They certainly made an effort to help the Madden 10 presentation, but did people actually *like* The Extra Point? The commentary was so choppy and disjointed, I couldn't stand it after a half dozen views. And Tom Hammond was absolutely atrocious, once again. The new stat overlays were nice, no question, but I wouldn't say I'm at all happy with the presentation on Madden 10. Especially after having played NBA 2K10.

And I'd disagree with the poster who commented on gameplay, not presentation, adding to replay value. That's true to an extent, sure, but I think stale commentary, annoying video clips and the like can do just as much to harm replay value as canned animations. I'd like to see them bring back that radio show they had in franchise last gen — little stuff like that adds to immersion, which is a big factor in replay value, imo.

You didn't even mention blocking, the dreaded hitch-step or just getting more fluid/realistic protak moments.

I'm afraid the signs I'm getting tell me not to expect major game play fixes tho. Stadium sounds, cut scenes with coordinators and getting Mark Turmell to make the game more playable for casuals give me the impression they just want to recruit new gamers instead of trying to please us picky, hard core guys with any major improvements.

I hope you are wrong, KJ.

It's way too early for me to try to add all things up without knowing what is to come out info wise in the future.

Heck, NCAA just came out with some minor features and people are already chompin on the bit for game play news.

It's still early info for that process.
