Tecmo is making a new game? Interesting. I'm still plodding along on Madden 08 on my PS2 until I feel the need to make the jump. I rely HEAVILY on the oppinions of the folks on this site, so I'll be trolling around here in August/September to help make my decision for me. If not, I'm still enjoying my old Madden on my old system. I can't believe my PS2 still works after 9 years. I don't even have to turn it sideways or anything.

Wow I didn't expect it to be so close. I guess it's cause there are 2 negetive selection for EA. If not it would be landslide bad for them. To be honest I don't know how the have gotten away with this for so long. Add then take away, then give again. Promise and don't deliver. I mean for a company that claims to be sooo in tune with it's consumer base, their flag ship game sure gives us the finger. And yet every year we get these blogs and posts saying they want to know what we want. Well, 75% of us haven't gotten it yet. Competition has finally shown up in a number of names and companies. If they think the NFL wants to keep their business trapped in under brand when no one is happy with it they are sadly mistaken.

The way I look at it EA got the best of me with 09 and 10, $120 bucks I'll never get back. So that being said looks like it will just be 2k5 and 2k8 unless Madden just goes way beyond my own expectations. Rent? Yes. Buy? Probably not.

For me Buying Madden 11 will depend on two things:

1. How Backbreaker is, if BB is a good game I don't think I'l have any reason to buy Madden. Unless (see reason #2)

2. Madden Ultimate Team. If they put MUT in Madden 11 from day 1, and if the improve on it enough, this may get me to buy the game even if Backbreaker is good. I really enjoy Ultimate Team, since it's addition to Madden 10 that is all I've played. I have no interest in any other part of the game .

Even though it has all its problems, I will be picking it up this year. I really like to keep up to date on sports games so this will be one of them. Unless Madden just is crap on 11.

If you snagged the Walmart deal on Bing a month or so ago, you could have gotten Madden for something like $38 with tax/shipping. That's only like $3 more than I paid for it used last year.

IMHO all of the sports games should only be $40 to $50 since they are yearly releases... basically regurgitated titles every year.
