As far as Madden, the word "Procedural" = bad

For example, Procedural Awareness was presented as an innovation that would make the players on the field react in a much more aware fashion. The tech demos showed an impressive relationship between the athletes and their surroundings:

We were also promised Procedural Tackling. Here is EA's ambitious description.

"a new animation technology for us, built as a custom animation system to sit above our motion captured animations and procedurally manipulate them as the game runs. “Why?” you may ask? It’s simple really…motion captured animations playing back ‘as is’ can limit the amount of control you as the gamer has while playing the game.. . . Yardage outcome should be dynamically determined by the ratings and weights of the players involved in the gang tackles. This was the key detail for us to make sure things were procedurally driven – the animations need to be manipulated during the animation playback"

Madden needs to go the extra mile and show fans these actually improvements in-game. I feel like they are currently on pins and needles trying to keep a balance. Just recreate the sport and everything else will fall in line.

We should NOT be able to use a Line shift on running plays. The blocking scheme should just be implemented properly for each play.

you can't market things like procedural awareness. too difficult to explain in 15 seconds. the average madden fan knows nothing of game programming, or football mechanics and strategy. they just know how to play madden
